Do I need Wi-Fi?

Yes, the device requires Wi-Fi for installation and monitoring.

Before starting the installation process, please make sure your Wi-Fi network meets the following requirements:

WiFi router should support and enable the following features:

  • IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band
  • UDP multicasting
  • DHCP services

Supported security modes:

  • Open security
  • Open security with a Login Page/Captive Portal*
  • WPA/WPA2 security

*Let us know if you use a Login Page/Captive Portal, and we will send you the MAC Addresses for your devices to add to your network whitelist. 

Router and Firewall settings should allow the following traffic:

  • TCP/IPv4 communication on port 1883 and 8883
  • IPv4 UDP communication on port 5354
  • Multicasting on the following address 239.250.83.1
